Cultivation, growth and harvest of textile fibres must not be at the expense of people, the environment and biodiversity.
The textile industry's consumption of raw materials must decrease overall and, at the same time, high-quality, durable textiles must prevail. Alternative and regenerative cultivation methods that produce raw materials that already benefit people and the environment in the field must be promoted by all means.
Let us no longer accept the conventional trade model and actively support the EU textile strategy.
Mandatory extended producer responsibility for textiles with environmentally-based fees (proposition)
Combating the accidental release of microplastics from synthetic textiles
Restricting the export of textile waste and promoting sustainable textiles worldwide
Creating incentives for circular business models, including the reuse and repair sectors
Encouraging companies and Member States to support the objectives of the strategy
Establish design requirements for textiles to make them more durable and easier to repair and recycle, as well as a minimum recycled content
Introduce clear labels on textiles and a digital product passport
Fight greenwashing to empower consumers and raise awareness of sustainable fashion
Turn around overproduction and overconsumption and deter the destruction of unsold or returned textiles
All of us can support the transition of the textile industry towards a regenerative industry that prefers nature positive and carbon neutral materials over fast fashion: By pre-financing biodiversity measures on the ground and request sustainable buying decisions from your favorite brand.

"An unprecedentend historic shift towards pricing nature in global markets needs to be harnessed in order to deliver on nature, climate and equity goals. There has been an inadequate governance preventing the economy's treatment of nature as a limitless free resource. This unsustainable use of nature has led to:
